Maintenance Mechanic
As a Maintenance Mechanic you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing pipes, pumps, tanks and other equipment within the facility to support location operations.

Essential Functions & Requirements:

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Performs general maintenance including repairs and replacement of pumps, valves, piping and hoses
  • Lubricates pumps, mixers, motors and other equipment; replaces grease fittings and oilers as needed
  • Operates a forklift to load and unload parts and equipment
  • Maintains and refills filter units, replaces insulation and stream tracing on pumps and lines as needed
  • Maintains operating areas, walls, pipes and floors in a clean and safe condition
  • Performs weekly/monthly calibrations as required by regulatory agencies
  • Operates equipment and utilizes tools to complete work such as cutting, threading, removing and replacing fittings
  • Repairs hoses and pipes as needed including threading pipe and basic pipefitting
  • Rebuilds air diaphragms and mechanical seal pumps
  • Completes coating repairs on concrete flooring and tank wall surfaces
  • Performs ARC/MIG welding and fabrication of materials as needed for equipment repairs and installation
  • Utilizes understanding of OSHA and Company regulations for lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, hot work and pipeline breaking, etc.
  • Performs standard mechanical preventative maintenance for the facility
  • Identifies tools or material inventory needs and informs supervisor as needed
  • Serves as an active member of the Plant Emergency Response Team (PERT); ensures mechanical shutdown in the event of an emergency
  • Maintains the ability to be on-call and part of a department rotation to address maintenance needs as they arise
  • Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including boots, gloves, suits, eye/ear protection and respirator
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education:

  • High-school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Valid driver's license (required)

Experience:

  • 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience (required)
  • Previous ARC or MIG welding experience (required)
  • Previous electrical maintenance experience (preferred)

Competencies:

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Ability to work as part of a team with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment, as well as mobile equipment (manlifts) and work in elevations of 60-70 feet
  • Strong technical expertise with knowledge of automation and equipment maintenance
  • Ability to fully support manufacturing processes through equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
