Senior Director, IT Applications
The Senior Director, IT Applications will lead the transformation of Arcwood's enterprise application ecosystem, shaping a future-ready digital core that enables business growth, operational excellence, and innovation at scale. This strategic leader will oversee the full lifecycle and performance of mission-critical systems across commercial, operations, supply chain, and back-office domains- ensuring they are modern, integrated, and aligned with Arcwood's evolving business needs.

Reporting to the Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO), this role will serve as the organization's senior leader on application strategy and delivery, managing a dynamic portfolio that spans ERP, CRM, MES, HCM, and emerging digital platforms. This role is central to enabling Arcwood's transformation agenda – streamlining processes, accelerating decision-making, and enhancing the employee and customer experience. Additionally, this role will lead the successful integration of M&A activity into Arcwood's core technology stack, ensuring scalable, secure, and seamless solutions across the enterprise.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a hands-on strategist with deep expertise in enterprise applications and a track record of delivering enterprise value through systems integration, platform optimization, and stakeholder engagement.

Essential Functions & Requirements:

Enterprise Application Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Defines the forward-looking applications strategy that aligns with Arcwood's growth objectives, digital innovation agenda, and operational priorities
  • Leads long-range planning for application modernization, platform consolidation, and cloud-forward adoption
  • Translates business needs into an enterprise roadmap that optimizes value delivery and reduces technical debt

Portfolio Ownership & Optimization

  • Owns the full application portfolio across Commercial (CRM, sales enablement, digital customer platforms), Operations and Supply Chain (MMS, logistics, IT/OT integration, asset management), and Back Office (ERP, HCM, finance, legal, and compliance systems) domains
  • Leads rationalization efforts to streamline systems, eliminate redundancies, and maximize ROI
  • Determines where capabilities live and how systems interoperate to support seamless end-to-end workflows

Business Partnership & Experience Transformation

  • Serves as a strategic advisor and technology advisor to business leaders, shaping digital solutions that improve employee experience and customer engagement
  • Cultivates a team of solution owners who embed themselves within functions to co-create application value
  • Drives alignment between IT and business outcomes through transparency, prioritization, and feedback

Execution & M&A Integration

  • Oversees delivery of applications initiatives from vendor selection and configuration through testing, rollout, and change management, including for M&A integrations
  • Leads successful integration of acquired companies into the enterprise technology landscape
  • Manages financial budgets across applications to ensure projects are executed on time, on budget, and aligned with financial goals.

Operations Excellence & Performance Management

  • Manages ongoing application operations with a focus on system performance, data integrity, and end-user support ensuring reliability and user satisfaction
  • Uses KPIs to monitor adoption, performance, and cost-effectiveness across the application stack
  • Promotes agile methodologies to accelerate time-to-value delivery and responsiveness

Governance, Security, & Compliance

  • Establishes robust governance for application architecture, vendor relationships, security, and lifecycle management (including IT/OT)
  • Ensures technology decisions support cybersecurity, compliance, and IT/OT safety standards
  • Provides oversight for change control and risk mitigation for high-impact systems
  • Drives rationalization efforts to simplify and standardize the application portfolio

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Builds and leads a high-performing focused team including internal staff and external delivery partners
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaborative problem solving
  • Invests in professional development and succession planning to scale team capability
  • Serves as a strategic partner to executive, functional, and operational leaders to prioritize technology needs and ensure alignment

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or business administration (required)
  • Master's degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise applications leadership, with a track record of successful application strategy, delivery and optimization (required)
  • Previous experience overseeing complex, integrated platforms across front office, operations and back-office domains (required)
  • Previous experience working with operations and developing the proper OT/IT integration (required)
  • Previous experience supporting M&A integrations (preferred)

  • Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
