Technical Customer Coordinator I
As a Technical Customer Coordinator I you will be responsible for the first review of waste stream approvals and selecting the appropriate facility based on customer's needs, Company policies, facility regulatory and permit requirements, facility capabilities, profitability, and safety to employees and the environment.
This role must stay current with regulations and individual facility permit requirements and must have a full understanding of the quotation and waste stream in the MMS and EIS systems, while working with third-party facilities to complete direct Approvals.
Essential Functions & Requirements:
- Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
- Acts as a liaison between Arcwood customers and the internal Approvals function to support both parties
- Serves as a technical resource for Account Managers and assists in the building and maintenance of strong customer relationships
- Triages internal v external needs for submittal to the appropriate Approval Chemist (low, medium, high, or third-party)
- Completes waste stream preparation for Approvals function and reviews relevant laboratory data
- Reviews Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and provides necessary information to the appropriate parties
- Completes Universal Template processing for applicable waste materials
- Assists relevant parties with the off-spec management process, as well as with bid and proposal preparation
- Provides quotes for replication ability and confirms contract restrictions for approvals
- Maintains knowledge of recertification programs and assists customers with program needs as appropriate
- Provides real-time online assistance for customers with a presence in EIS Profiling chat features
- Partners with third-party facilities to complete direct approvals
- Reviews comprehensive information and elevates customer issues as appropriate
- Establishes and maintains a strong working knowledge of RCRA, DOT and federal, state and local regulations, along with Company procedures, systems and capabilities
- Participates in monthly safety observation meetings and achieves established safety observation goals
- Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
Education:
- Bachelor's degree (required); degree in environmental science or other technical field (preferred)
Experience:
- 1.5+ years of internal experience in a customer experience or technical role (required) -OR-
- In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in a customer experience or technical role (required)
- Consecutive rating of '3 – Meets Expectations' on two previous performance evaluations (required)
Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong communication skills via phone, with the ability to listen actively
- Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to make strong decisions and execute patience under pressure
- Self-directed with the ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines
- Basic working knowledge of all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the Environmental Services industry and DOT/RCRA regulations
- Strong working knowledge of computer programs and applications
- Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
